One of Allison’s 2012 Resolutions is…to not go 6 months between blog post again :o). I have been a little bit busy with school/work, but aren't we all busy with something. The positive side is that the holidays arrived which meant lots of fun HANDMADE GIFTS and a tad bit more FREE TIME! Yaayyyyy! This little break has also given me some time to rack up ideas for some fun blog post and to share a few handmade goodies. I know the holidays have passed but I have to show off some of the goodies I made for Christmas. Yes... I’m a cheese ball and I get way too excited about this kind of stuff and it can be frightening if I have to much time on my hands. Here's an example of to much time.
This year my girlfriend Amber hosted the very first ever “Craft Night”. We basically decide on a theme for the evening such as baby mobiles, hair flowers… and then we all bring a pot luck item for dinner. The husbands even attend so they can have a fire in the backyard, play some horseshoes, and eat our yummy food. They even graciously babysit for the moms (kind of) so we can create our crafty
master pieces (Resolution #2 work on spelling/grammar).

This last craft night was hosted at the Mendoza’s lovely new home where we made Christmas wreaths! Recently I’ve been a little bit obsessed with yarn wreaths and have a
Pinterest board full of them. For some reason I could not stick with the traditional Christmas colors and I chose to use brown, cream, pink, and lime green. I also have a minor addiction to glitter and stuff that sparkles, but I've learned from the first craft night that this addiction can be very bad. For example...My baby mobile I made from the first craft night looked like a 3 year old and a hippie on LSD made it. I was so proud of it at the time and then I hung it in my craft room. After a couple months it hit me…It was awful and it had to go, so I decided to recycle it. Learning from this experience I decided to tread lightly on the sparkle. This is the end result and I’m actually digging my Christmas wreath with a twist.

Another bad habit I have is when I have fun creating a craft I become a little OCD and I’ll make a ton of them. I cannot stop until I’ve made every kind and one in every color… What can I say :o). Here’s some of my Christmas wreaths and I ended up giving them all away except for 2 (I’m trying not to be a pack rat).
